ASUtv brings you many relevant and entertaining regularly-scheduled programs. Shows are produced or sponsored by university students, colleges, and departments. ASUtv programming exemplifies the wide variety of educational opportunities that ASU, the New American University, offers its’ students. We offer many convenient viewing opportunities for you to catch these outstanding shows!

The award-winning news program “HORIZON”, provided through the courtesy of KAET Eight, is broadcast for you each weeknight at 9:00 pm. Additional viewing times are available the following day.

Ted Simons and a knowledgeable panel of experts bring you in-depth reporting and thoughtful discussion about local issues. Many of these issues, including ASU research, are of interest to a world-wide audience. For more than 25 years, Arizonans have turned to HORIZON for news, opinion and in-depth analysis on major stories and events. Now anyone can tune in!

ASUtv offers extra opportunities to watch HORIZON, with convenient rebroadcasts times, and we also present a special episode from the week on Saturday and Sunday. HORIZON on ASUtv will keep you on top of the important issues!

ASUtv and the Walter Cronkite School of Journalism and Mass Communications present the award-winning student newscast “Cronkite NewsWatchlive every Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday at 4:30 pm during the school year. You can take a look at our schedule for rebroadcast times. The ASUtv Video Archive on Ustream also has past episodes available for you.

ASU Research Review and ASU Spotlight

ASU Research Review and ASU Spotlight are presented each week, informing our viewers about what is going on at Arizona State University. Covering important topics like energy and the environment, vaccines and Mars missions, these informative and entertaining shows are of interest to any life-long learner.

Books & Co.

Now in its 15th season, Books & Co. explores the craft of writing from the author’s perspective. Alberto Álvaro Ríos joins Books & Co. as a new host. No stranger to the series, he was the first guest author 1993. Rios is a Regents’ Professor at Arizona State University, where he has taught for over 26 years and where he holds the further distinction of the Katharine C. Turner Endowed Chair in English. Alberto joins the series’ regular hosts, authors Ron Carlson, Professor Emeritus in English/Creative Writing at Arizona State University, and Jana Bommersbach, an acclaimed and respected journalist whose work has encompassed every facet of the profession. Link TV Productions

Link TV programs air on ASUtv through a special agreement between the two stations. We present “Explore” with host Charles Annenberg Weingarten, and a program we call “World Focus”, which features select programs provided by Link TV. These programs include shows that look at issues, cultures and music from around our globe.

Great Decisions 2010

In hiatus until the spring of 2012, the Great Decisions in Foreign Policy television series is produced by the independent Foreign Policy Association and sponsored on ASUtv by the ASU New College of Interdisciplinary Arts and Sciences. Now in its’ 25th year, Great Decisions gives in-depth analysis and expert opinion on the 10 most important issues facing the U.S. in the year ahead. Host Ralph Begleiter is a former world affairs correspondent for CNN.

Arizona Wildlife Views

ASUtv is pleased to present our viewers with a look at the wide variety of wildlife that exists in Arizona. Arizona Wildlife Views, produced by the Arizona Game and Fish Department, is sponsored on ASUtv by the ASU School of Life Sciences. This entertaining show is about wildlife, fishing, hunting, boating, off-roading and many other subjects and endless opportunities that the Grand Canyon State has to offer!

NASA 360

Learn how inventions developed by NASA scientists impact your daily life on NASA 360. Since its’ inception in 1958, the National Aeronautics and Space Administration has had a long-standing reputation of developing ground-breaking technologies that help people both on earth and in space. Tune in to NASA 360 and find out what’s new at NASA, as this program looks at the agency from all sides. Film Festivals & Showcases

ASUtv brings you more than just movies, we bring classic film and history to a new generation.  You can watch Vintage Movie Theater at 10:00 pm and 2:00 am Monday through Friday, catch a sci-fi film at noon on Saturday, or chill to a thriller at midnight on Saturday night!  Our Vintage Movie Theater programs bring you feature film and shorts that you have probably never seen before, and may never see again!  These fun-filled programs are loaded with early newsreels, government propaganda, public information productions and much more, from the roaring 20’s through the 1960’s and 70’s.

Vintage Sci-Fi Theater features a classic science fiction flick at noon on Saturdays and on Sunday at 8:00 pm.  Vintage Horror Theater airs Saturday at midnight and Sundays at noon.  If you missed a film during the week, tune in on Sunday afternoons as we replay many of the previous week’s movies!  Check the ASUtv schedule for titles and show times.  And if you think movie making is in your blood, check out the ASU School of Theatre and Film!

Cinema CLIPS

Cinema CLIPS is a very popular program on  cable stations across the U.S., and ASUtv is your exclusive online source for it! This independently-produced program brings you an inside look at some of the hottest movie releases each month. Airing in hundreds of American television markets, we are pleased that ASUtv has been selected as the only place online where you can catch this popular series. You can see clips from new movies, exclusive interviews with your favorite stars, music videos and even compete in a trivia contest! Inside Creative Minds

Take a look at the creative individuals living in the Phoenix Metropolitan area on Inside Creative Minds! Arizona State University’s Herberger Institute of Design and the Arts sponsors this program, which interviews a wide variety of people who are active in the valley’s art scene. Host Tray Goodman brings his love of the arts into every interview. We’re sure you’ll enjoy each episode of Inside Creative Minds.

To Your Health

Currently in hiatus for new program production, you can join host Paula Pedene as she looks at important health issues on this show, produced by the Veteran’s Administration Medical Center in Phoenix Arizona. Sponsored by the ASU College of Nursing and Healthcare Innovation, ASUtv is proud to bring you “To Your Health”.

Student-Produced Programs

The very best of ASU student productions are aired on ASUtv. We have presented sports to our viewers with Arizona State Sun Devils Hockey home games! We also have aired special interviews of ASU athletes, comedy club programs and shows that look into sports around the Phoenix Metropolitan area.
